ROBLOX University Launches Alongside Game Creation Challenge
img The games made by our community are the heart and soul of ROBLOX. While we want as many people as possible to contribute to our creative ecosystem, there is a slight learning curve for the first-time game maker. With that in mind, we’ve launched ROBLOX University , a month-long game development event featuring a pair of video tutorial series and a virtual campus where budding game creators can hang out and test their knowledge (and earn prizes for acing quizzes). Becoming a ROBLOX University student is simple. You don’t have to enroll. You don’t have to pay tuition. You just have to want to learn to build and script games!

ROBLOX Community Raises Over $6,000 for ALS Research
img Time to give yourselves a round of applause, ROBLOX players, because you all did something awesome! Nearly 60,000 people purchased an Ice Bucket, and we received hundreds of videos of ROBLOXians doing the Ice Bucket Challenge in game and in real life. Awesome work, guys!

Starting now, game creators are able to utilize a new API that allows their game to display a video ad to mobile players on supported iOS and Android devices. And, as with most of our features, the creative control and deployment of this particular addition will be entirely up to you, our builders and developers. Let’s talk a bit about the ramifications of this feature, and go over some best practices when implementing it in your game.
