Gamers and Developers Get New VIP Server Features
By popular demand, we launched VIP Servers in late 2014 to give you an easy way to play games privately with your friends. Since then, we’ve been listening to your feedback and making updates to improve the VIP Server experience. These incremental changes include the ability to invite all your friends with one click, quickly set up competitive (and presumably epic) clan-versus-clan battles, and automatically renew your VIP Server, as well as revenue sharing for developers who enable the feature. Let’s dig into the updates.

The Top Games of February, 2015
We see a lot of ROBLOX games shoot up into the Top 20 list in the first few weeks of life. The community loves new games, and so do we. But only a select few manage to stay at the top, pulling in players month after month. February mostly saw long-time favorites dominating the list. Can some of the newcomers stay popular? Will we see some of the juggernaut titles slip a few places in the coming months? That all depends on where you, the gamers of the ROBLOX community, decide to spend your time.

Friends and Followers Makes ROBLOX More Social, and Even More Fun
ROBLOX has more than 4.5 million active players every month. Many of you have told us that you would like a more comprehensive social experience. You would like to be able to play and join games with your Friends. You would like to be able to gauge how you’re doing, in any game, in relation to your Friends. You would like to be able to create games with these social aspects in mind. Basically, you’ve told us that friends should be able to play and compete with one another – easily. Friends and Followers is a new way of making social connections on ROBLOX, and a feature that lays the groundwork for these exciting social gameplay and game development possibilities.

An Inside Look at ROBLOX Player Patterns and Popular Games
The world of ROBLOX is a big and diverse place. With millions of players and thousands upon thousands of popular games, there’s something for everyone out there. You can see the diversity of ROBLOX players in the Games page and the titles that are popular and highly rated. But we know not every gamer is the same, and the most popular games are so different that it’s clear people have different tastes. The people who are enjoying ROBLOX High School are probably not the same people surviving bloody zombie attacks in Apocalypse Rising every day.

Be a VIP with Your Own Private Game Server
To wrap up 2014, the ROBLOX engineering teams have been working diligently to release some really exciting features for both gamers and game developers. One of those features is something that our community has been requesting for while: private game servers. Today, we launched the beta of VIP Servers, allowing you to purchase a private server for any game that supports the feature and select the people who can play on it with you. We know that you want it to be easy to socialize and play with your friends (or foes, for the competitive types), and this is an initial step toward giving you more control over your gaming experience on ROBLOX.

Zeekerss Puzzles Players in 2.5 Dimensions
ROBLOX is traditionally home to 3D, multiplayer, physics-based games. So, when players discovered that Zeekerss was making narrative-driven, single-player, game in 2.5D – restricting players to a single plane of movement, but built using 3D assets – they quickly took notice. Inspired by the game Choices by GollyGreg , Zeekerss is now one of the top creators of side-scrolling ROBLOX titles. What’s even more stunning than the quality and aesthetic of his games is that Zeekerss is a mere 12 years old (going on 13), and already designing clever levels and puzzles that have stumped even adult players.

Berezaa Brings Co-op Gameplay to Tycoons — and Cashes In
Following yesterday’s exciting announcement that we have now paid more than $500,000 to ROBLOX game developers, we thought now would be a great time to highlight one of the top-earning game makers of the summer: berezaa. His game, 2-Player Gun Factory Tycoon , seemingly came out of nowhere and quickly shot (heh) to the top of our game charts, earning the once-unknown developer throngs of fans and several million ROBUX. With the success of the game, he’s converting his virtual earnings to cash to supplement his life and eventually pay for higher education.
