Group Dynamic: Samurai, Light Fights, Naval Warfare and More!
The world of groups within ROBLOX is ever-expanding. I’ve always known groups as a large part of the ROBLOX experience, but I had no idea how deep the rabbit hole went until I started investigating them in the first entry of this series . Suffic...

Get Creative in the BLOXtober Costume Contest!
BLOXtober continues today with the launch of a costume contest! This is your chance to piece together a creative Halloween costume for your character and, using the new outfits feature, enter it to win a yet-to-be-announced virtual item. While we’re not revealing what the prize is just yet, we will say that the top three costumes will be integrated into our Halloween game, which launches later this week, with a mid-event update. Anyone who wears that costume into the game will receive a useful item. Here’s how it works. Here’s how it works.

Weekly ROBLOX Roundup: October 13th, 2013
Every week, we’re busy telling the stories behind our community, our technology and our place in the gaming and technology industries. For those of you who catch up with ROBLOX over the weekend, the Weekly ROBLOX Roundup collects the best stuff to hit our various avenues of publication in the last week. This time: two great articulated physics demos, an inside look at the creation of crazyman32′s Nuclear Simulation, games taking advantage of the sounds feature, a dodgeball-themed Crossfire, a Spotlight on starmarine614, body packages for everyone, Laserbike Racing, and other bits and pieces. Enjoy.

Spotlight: Starmarine614′s Theme Park Success Story
We interviewed starmarine614 back in July, shortly after the introduction of Paid Access. We chatted with him because a, which was still in beta at the time, was the first game to find significant success using the feature. We told him then to contact us when he was finished building his project, so I wasn’t surprised to get a message from him on ROBLOX a few days ago that read: “It’s finished, and it’s picture-ready.”

Body Packages Now Available to All ROBLOXians
Being that it’s BLOXtober and we’d like to see all of you running around in any costume you can dream up, we’ve decided the time is right to open our selection of body packages to everyone. Body packages are full makeovers of the standard ROBLOX character — complete with anything from hulking armor to penguin fins to peg legs — and have long been a small benefit of a Builders Club membership. This is not a Halloween special. From here on out, body packages will release initially as Builders Club exclusives, then soon become available to any ROBLOXian who wants them. While most body packages have already made the transition, there are a few we have yet to make available to everyone. That will happen next week. This is not a Halloween special. Sounds Bringing ROBLOX Games to Life
The a has been out for two weeks today, and already many of our intrepid game developers have started experimenting with the feature–in some cases, they are actually building entire games around custom sounds (though we’ll touch on these particular games when they’ve had a bit more time in development)! We dug through the Games list to find some of the best uses of ROBLOX sounds yet.

Exploring the Possibilities of Articulated Physics, Part 2
We have a vision for ROBLOX where builders can create complex mechatronic constructs and simulate them in real time with other players.

Developer’s Journal: Crazyman32’s Nuclear Simulation
Over the past couple of years I’ve spent on ROBLOX, I’d like to think I’ve come up with some pretty crazy ideas for games. With the release of dynamic lighting, I was able to create games that looked precisely as I had imagined them.

A Look Back at a Summer Full of BLOXcons
I distinctly remember the morning of our first BLOXcon at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. I was making some last-minute preparations, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I peered outside to see a line of people stretch...
