If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably spent hours and hours doodling awesome characters you hope to one day see in a comic book or video game. You might have even been inspired to use some of the items in the Catalog to try bringing that character to life as your avatar. Now, imagine how cool it would be if Roblox decided to turn your concept into a real avatar bundle the whole world could enjoy. Well, that sounded like a pretty neat idea to us, so we decided to make a friendly contest out of it!

#RobloxRthroContest

To celebrate the creativity and imagination of the community, we’re taking submissions for original, custom-drawn Rthro characters to be included in the Catalog. The contest begins now and runs until Wednesday, January 2 at 11:59 a.m. PDT. All entries must be submitted within the contest period.

Check out the official contest rules here.

How to Enter

Step 1) Design an Rthro character you’d like to see in the Catalog. You could sketch it out on paper, illustrate it using 2D drawing software, or even model it in 3D.

Step 2) Take a picture of your concept. Scan it, photograph it, or take a screen capture.

Step 3) Follow @Roblox on Twitter and reply to our tweet announcing the contest. Include the image of your concept, a link to your Roblox profile, and the hashtag #RobloxRthroContest.

Need a little inspiration? These are some of the Rthro characters we’ve designed so far. What will you create?

Judgment Criteria

From the entries that receive the most likes on Twitter, we’ll select 10 winners on Monday, January 14 based on the following criteria:

  • Originality: Does your entry exhibit a style or aesthetic that’s currently not available on Roblox?
  • Appeal: Does your entry fit the fun and imaginative personality of Roblox?
  • Creativity: How unique or creative is your entry?

The winners will receive a $500 cash prize and have their concepts listed in the Catalog!

We can’t wait to see what you come up with. Good luck, and may the best design win!
