We like to think of Roblox as the ultimate virtual universe where anyone can learn, create, play, and imagine with friends. These are just a few of the many reasons why millions of people around the world love Roblox, and we’re always excited to build new, meaningful ways for friends to connect with one another. Back in February, we gave players the option to send friend requests to fellow Robloxians on their contact list. Now we’re making it even easier for real-life friends to add each other on Roblox!
Introducing the Universal Friend Page and Nearby Friends*
You can now access all available friending methods in one place: the Universal Friend Page. Simply tap the Add Friends icon on the home screen to open it. You can search for friends by username or on your contacts list, accept incoming requests, and now, add friends who are in your immediate vicinity.
*Note: These features are available only on iOS 8.0+ and Android 6.0+ mobile devices.
First, you and your friend(s) must be in close proximity and you must be searching for each other in Nearby mode at the same time. Your devices will then send a ping to one another. As soon as everyone’s devices hear each other’s signal, you’ll see their avatar(s) pop up on your screen. Tap their avatar to send a friend request, and if they accept it, you’ll add each other on Roblox!
Enjoy, and let us know what you think on Twitter @Roblox. Stay tuned for more news on the blog soon!
