Upload Longer Audio Files

We have increased the max upload length and size of audio files to 6 minutes or 10 megabytes. That’s about a 200% increase over our original max upload length and a 25% increase over our original max audio size! Additionally, the cost to upload audio files now varies based on size and length. In other words, shorter audio files should be cheaper to upload.

We realize how important sounds are for adding immersion and atmosphere for any Roblox game. These changes will give you a greater amount of freedom when it comes to bigger or longer audio files.

To get started, head on over to the Audio tab on the Develop page. Select the audio file you want to upload from your computer, hit the estimate button to see the cost, then click again to confirm and add it to your list of sounds. From there, you can edit the file’s name, description, public domain status, genre, etc.

For more information on using sounds in your Roblox game, we’ve written an in-depth tutorial on our Wiki to help you get the most out of your audio file. Have further questions? More documentation can be found here as well.

So, what are you waiting for? Start uploading those bigger audio files today!
