Are you itching for a fighting game that is more than just hack and slash? Looking for a good parkour game to satisfy your obstacle-jumping urges? Feel like sneaking up for that surprise kill? You won’t have to look far, because in this week’s game you’ll have to sneak your way to victory. You guessed it, this week we are spotlighting a new wonderful game from Mailbox Games: Stealth.

In Stealth you play as a would-be assassin who is given different tasks (three at a time) which require you to get kills, levels, or money in a variety of ways. That’s the core gameplay, and I love it. It’s so simple and straightforward in scope yet the possibilities are never ending. The game is compelling, the goals are always reasonable so you never feel stuck, and combat feels really smooth and fun. You’re given three types of weapons: Your sword, which you can use to block and slash with. Your stealth weapon, which 1-hit kills anyone who you hit with it, but it has a long cool down. And your crossbow, which is your ranged weapon, though it hits for significantly less damage than the other weapons in your disposal.

The weaponry can be upgraded, as can your outfit, via the store page. You can equip new items the higher level you are, but each item costs money, so you’ll want to be sure you make as much money as you can while you level up. You earn money from killing other players and you gain more bounty by killing civilians. Civilians run around the map constantly, and other players will look like civilians until they draw their weapons, so you’ll have to follow them to know if they’re a player or not. When you die your bounty is given to your killer. The higher your bounty is, the bigger a target you are.

Stealth is one of the first games I’ve played that has a really cool parkour system. If you hold shift and run against objects and building and you hop or climb over them. Not only does this work well, but is important to the gameplay since climbing up buildings and running on rooftops is a key way to sneak up on your prey. It even gives you the ability to roll in combat which led to some pretty amazing duels with other players.

To add even more to an already well rounded game, Mailbox Games has created a system where you can make an “Alliance” which lets you create a team to roam around with. It’s an easy to use system, you just invite a player via their user name. If they accept, you can see where they are on the map and they appear as an assassin instead of a regular citizen. Another awesome feature in Stealth is the ability to start an event by paying just 10 ROBUX. These events could range from supply crates spawning (which give you cash if you break them), to making all the assassins appear as guards, and even to spawning a special “tax collector” who’s worth a bonus if you can track him down and kill him.

Stealth really fulfills my desire for sneaky combat. Unlike a lot of other stealth-based games where you have to wait forever just to attack your prey, Stealth never becomes stale or boring. It remains fresh and fun, new challenges are always coming up and I still haven’t explored everything there is to explore. If you haven’t played Stealth yet, what are you waiting for?

Until next time, keep on stealthing on!
