Today is the first day of the month-long Halloween celebration we know on ROBLOX as BLOXtober. We’re kicking things off with 13 days of gifts, but there will soon be much more, including the official Halloween game event, known as Hallow’s Eve, and tons of scares happening on our Twitch channel, courtesy of the top games of the “scare us silly” Game Creation Challenge that concluded on Sunday. Let’s preview what’s in store for BLOXtober in a little more detail.

13 days of gifts

Every day, starting today, for the next 13 days, we’ll be releasing a spooky gift in the catalog. You can purchase these gift boxes once they’re on sale, but the mystery inside will not reveal itself until later in BLOXtober. Will it be a trick or a treat? You’re going to have to get one for yourself to find out!

Hallow’s Eve 2014

We’re not revealing too much about this year’s official Halloween game, Hallow’s Eve, right now, but rest assured that you will be able to earn lots of prizes for completing objectives — which entail such fun activities as surviving hordes of attacking monsters in a revolving series of arenas shrouded in dark fog.

Scares galore

As many of you know, we hosted a Game Creation Challenge in September, where the challenge was to create a game that would “scare us silly.” We received more than 400 entries in the challenge — thanks for the huge response! — and will soon be narrowing the field down to the top submissions. We’ll be playing the top games throughout the month of BLOXtober on our regularly scheduled livestreams: The Next Level on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. Pacific, and Let’s Play on Fridays at 2 p.m. Pacific. Make sure to follow ROBLOX on Twitch to make sure you don’t miss these shows. They promise to inflict plenty of embarrassing jump scares on our staff.
