We’re expanding our monthly BLOXcast into a momentous 24-hour event that involves the entire ROBLOX community.

Exciting news, everyone: ROBLOX is thrilled to announce that this year we’ll be participating in the Extra Life 24-hour gaming marathon, supporting the Children’s Miracle Network. Get ready for 24 hours of ROBLOX games, developers, staff, and a whole lot of fun, all for a good cause. Best of all, you guys, the awesome ROBLOX community, will be the stars.

What is Extra Life?

Extra Life is an annual event where the video game industry comes together in a 24-hour gaming marathon in order to raise money for various children’s hospitals. Last year the event raised over $4 million.

How is ROBLOX participating?

Starting at 6 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 24, ROBLOX will be streaming and hosting streams from members of the community. The event kicks off in the evening, and continues through the night.

All night long various members of the ROBLOX community will be streaming games, showing off their builds, and chatting with you. This is perfect for those of you in Australia, Europe, or other timezones, where our streams are usually late at night.

The streams go through until the morning, when ROBLOX comes back in to wake you all up.

On Saturday October 25 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, our monthly BLOXcast livestream will air, as part of the Extra Life marathon. We’ll have a Q&A with the people who make ROBLOX happen (including David Baszucki, tobotrobot, and zeuxcg), and play games with you. You definitely don’t want to miss it.

After BLOXcast, the Extra Life marathon continues, with more streams from ROBLOX devs and gamers, and even some members of our staff. The whole event wraps up at 6 p.m. Pacific Time, at which point we will all be exhausted zombies that will barely be able to speak coherently.

Who is streaming?

We’ve recruited over a dozen ROBLOX developers and Twitch streamers to help us with this monumental undertaking. Check out this list of featured ROBLOXians:

Awesome! How can I help?

Great question! There are two ways you can help us make this charity drive even more awesome.

  1. Donate to ROBLOX’s Extra Life campaign. Every dollar counts, and we’d like to help as many kids as possible. Extra Life handles all the money and 100% of the proceeds go to Children’s Miracle Network.
  2. Stream ROBLOX on Twitch during the 24-hour period. The more people that stream ROBLOX, the more attention we bring to the event. Plus, streaming is a fun way to get engaged in the community while you play your favorite ROBLOX games and/or show off your creations.

We’re looking forward to seeing you all starting Friday, October 24 at 6 p.m. Pacific Time. We need all of you to make this great, and we’re confident you’ll come through. The ROBLOX community has proven to consist of some of the most awesome and most generous gamers out there. Of course, you’ll be able to find all of this on our Twitch channel!
