As we announced on the blog a few weeks ago, members of our community will be hosting ROBLOX booths this weekend at Maker Faires in Orlando, Portland and Maryland. Because all three events had more than 20 community volunteers (!), we’re also sending staff members to each of the three events. Whether you signed up to help run the booth or not, you can visit us at any of these locations — and pick up a card that you can redeem for an exclusive virtual Maker Faire top hat while you’re there!

Stop by one of the three Maker Faires happening this weekend and you can get one of these virtual hats.

Here are the details:

  • September 13 & 14: Maker Faire Orlando (Orlando, FL). This Faire will be taking place at the Orlando Science Center — we’ll be sending RoboYZ, who’s working on 100-person servers, and Vaiobot, who’s part of the Customer Service team. You’ll also find ROBLOX developers Ozzypig, Rootx, Nexx, and Zyneak hanging out at the booth.
  • September 13 & 14: Portland Mini Maker Faire (Portland, OR). This event will be held at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Staff members twberg (on the ROBLOX Studio team) and totbl (artist and designer of the current OBC theme) will be there to help run the booth, alongside ROBLOX developers Spacek531, Janthran, Aceta, DeviousDeviation, MightyWanderer, xXFIREFACEXx, and Tomarty.
  • September 14: Silver Spring Mini Maker Faire (Silver Spring, MD). This Faire has the distinction of being free! You’ll find the event at the Veterans Plaza and the Silver Spring Civic Building, and we’ll be sending b1tsh1ft, who you may know from the Web team. This will be his second Maker Faire appearance, having attended Detroit earlier in the year. He’ll be hanging at the booth with developers TeamHavemeat and Defaultio.

Maker Faire

In case you’ve missed prior blog posts, we’ve been making a concerted effort this year to spread the word about ROBLOX among those who may not already know about us and what we represent. Our presence at Maker Faires around the country has allowed us to introduce ROBLOX to some of the most creative people out there, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of ROBLOX fans!

There are many more to come, and we need fans to sign up! We’ll be making our presence felt through the month of November, at locations including Milwaukee, Atlanta, Miami and San Diego (to name a few). We’ll also be sending multiple staff members to Maker Faire New York — aside from the Bay Area, this is the biggest Maker Faire of the year — on September 20th and 21st. For the latest list of upcoming Maker Faires and to sign up and participate, visit our ROBLOX events page.
