MFBA logo 2014In little more than a day from now, the entire ROBLOX staff — alongside a bunch of builders and game developers from the community — will be descending upon Maker Faire Bay Area to show the world of makers what we’re all about. The event takes place this Saturday and Sunday, May 17th and 18th, at the San Mateo Event Center in our hometown of San Mateo, CA. If you’re within driving distance, you can come find us at booth 642 near the center of the Expo Hall. (Or simply look for the large ROBLOX blimp to show you the way. Yes, that’s right, the ROBLOX blimp. Blimps are cool.) If you can’t make it in person, be sure to check out our livestream from the event (both days) at twitch.tv/ROBLOX!

There is a lot of amazing stuff to see at Maker Faire — everything from robots to rockets to 3D printing — and probably more than any single person could digest in one day. The ROBLOX booth will offer facetime with most of the ROBLOX staff and even three prolific ROBLOX game developers: SmoothBlockModel (the creator of the new Don’t Blink game, among others), litozinnamon (the genius behind Call of ROBLOXia 5), and TheAmazeman (of ROBLOX Titanic fame), all of whom we hope to feature on our live broadcast from the event. We’ll also be giving attendees the rare opportunity to get their hands on ROBLOX merchandise (hats, hoodies, shirts and more).

Tickets are available now. They not only get you access to the ROBLOX booth, but also 900+ other exhibitors, many of which are doing exciting things — digital and physical — with technology and just plain old know-how. All-day advance tickets start at $17.50 (ages 4-12) and $32.50 (adult). You may be able to purchase tickets at the gate on the day(s) of the event, but the Maker Faire figures to draw well over 100,000 people, so there are no guarantees of availability.

For those of you who’ll be enjoying Maker Faire Bay Area from the comfort of your own home, we’ll kick off the live broadcast on Saturday and Sunday mornings around 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time (1:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. GMT) and go from there. Make sure to follow our Twitch channel today so you don’t miss the streams.

We’ll see you all at Maker Faire 2014 on May 17th and 18th — whether it’s online or in person!
