DevEx CycleIf you’ve been following any of the stories about ROBLOX in the press this week, you’ve no doubt heard rumblings and rumors of a potential increase in the maximum monthly payout from our Developer Exchange program. Let it be known that the rumors are true: starting in February, the maximum monthly DevEx payout will increase from $500 to $2,000. We certainly are fostering the next generation of indie developers. And the most successful ROBLOX game creators will be rewarded — handsomely, at that — for the time they spend creating fantastic games.

This expansion does not affect the process of using DevEx and the exchange rate (1,000 ROBUX to 1 USD) remains the same. Once you’ve accumulated enough ROBUX (100,000) and have acquired an Outrageous Builders Club membership, you can “cash out” from the Develop page. The only difference is you can now exchange up to 2,000,000 ROBUX in one shot! That’s a lot of earnings, so it’ll take astute game design and frequent improvements to sustain such a payout on a recurring basis.

This news comes hot on the heels of yesterday’s Developer Stats launch. Developer Stats give all game creators access to charts that track recent traffic to their games and the corresponding average play time, providing more feedback about recent popularity and entertainment value.

The ROBLOX community is a virtuous circle, where developers create games for a large and bustling community of gamers and, in turn, inspire others to create equally awesome content. Great games fuel ROBLOX, and that’s precisely why we implemented the Developer Exchange — to offer talented individuals further incentive to create.

There are many other reasons to develop games on ROBLOX. To learn more about other key benefits of the platform, see this previous article.
