Halloween LogoBLOXtober continues this week with a big Tuesday announcement: our 2013 Halloween game, The Witching Hour, is now open for everyone to play! Those of you who paid for early access during either the 1,000- or 500-ROBUX phase will receive your exclusive items in the near future.

If you haven’t played the game yet, here’s a quick refresher from Sorcus’ original article about The Witching Hour:

Hours of exploration

The Witching Hour is, at its core, a game of exploration. The game offers hours (many, many hours) of gameplay, partly because of its sheer scale. At 20,000 by 20,000 studs, it is the largest map ROBLOX has ever created!

BLOXikins

13 quests and BLOXikins as rewards

The depth of gameplay also comes from the game’s 13 quests. In conjunction with the official launch of The Witching Hour, we’ve rolled out the BLOXikins, which are shoulder-adorning hats you receive as rewards for completing quests! You can see all 13 of the BLOXikins in the catalog, but the only way to obtain them is to put your adventuring skills to the test in The Witching Hour.

The Witching Hour Battle

Plenty of minions standing between you and a complete set of BLOXikins.

Companions

Companions are creatures (dogs, cats, dragons, etc.) that join you on your Halloween adventure. You are able to choose a companion and customize its look by exploring and collecting items in the game.

Consumables

Consumables are items that can be consumed, meaning you’ll have to find them again in order to use them again. You can buy your favorite items — keys, bullets, potions, weapons and more — multiple times and you will be on a constant hunt for new and exciting items during your Halloween quest.

The Witching Hour Neighborhood

This isn’t your average night of trick or treating.

Starting your adventure

You start The Witching Hour near city hall, where Builderman is waiting to give you your first quest. You can collect the boards he needs by ringing the doorbells of nearby houses and defeating the enemies inside. From there, it’s up to you to discover the rest of the ROBLOX admins and help them defend Bloxburg from the evil witch Bloxhilda and her terrifying minions!

Go play!
