Yesterday (and today), the BLOXcon team trekked across the Atlantic to London for our next fan convention, this Saturday at the Royal Air Force Museum. While more than 20 of us will be there running the show, we’re not the only people you should be seeking; several successful community members will be there to interact with their fans, as well. Read on to find out who we’re talking about (and to get prepared for an awesome BLOXcon experience).

First, a look at what’s going on at BLOXcon London

Main Stage Presentation: CEO and ROBLOX Co-Founder David Baszucki and VP of Marketing and Brand Experience Brad Justus will lead a two-hour presentation covering a gamut of ROBLOX news and developments. We’ll showcase new and upcoming ROBLOX features, make exciting announcements, give BLOXY and Hall of Fame awards, host a Q&A session where the whole audience can participate, and more!

R&D Lab: The ROBLOX R&D Lab is your chance to sit down at a computer and play and build in ROBLOX – with friends and ROBLOX developers. Ask questions, give feedback and show off your gaming/building skills. Seating is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot at the R&D Lab!

Hackathon: Get out your laptop and participate in the Hackathon! Take on a range of building and scripting challenges posed by the ROBLOX developers, and score points for speed and accuracy. We’ll keep a running total of points scored and award prizes to competitors.

There will also be opportunities to meet the ROBLOX staff, get your poster covered with signatures, interact in person with the community, and, of course, pick up schwag. The BLOXcon London body package looks great, and will be available exclusively at BLOXcon London when you purchase £25 worth of ROBLOX merchandise.

Who else can you expect to see at BLOXcon London?

There will be a number of veteran ROBLOXians in attendance. Arbirator, the Editor at popular fan site ROBLOX News, will be hanging out near the ROBLOX Staff Booth to talk with attendees about the site and potentially writing for it.

“I’ve always wanted to meet the staff that I frequently talk to, but I’m just as excited to speak to ROBLOX users in person, especially ‘ROBLOX News’ readers,” says Arbirator. “I see BLOXcon as an excellent opportunity to look for fresh new talent to join my team of writers, as well as an opportunity to gather feedback for improvements.”

“If you’re interested in becoming a journalist for ROBLOX News, please visit our stall at BLOXcon,” he added.

One of ROBLOX’s most successful game developers and four-and-a-half-year veteran, TheGamer101, will be roaming the BLOXcon grounds, as well.

“I think it’s going to be a really interesting experience meeting so many different ROBLOX players and admins,” TheGamer101 says. “I don’t know many other ROBLOX players in real life so this will be a unique opportunity to discuss the ins and outs of ROBLOX with other players face to face.”

He not only anticipates discussing ROBLOX in general, but interacting with players of his most popular game, Sword Fighting Tournament. He’s already demonstrated a knack for listening to player feedback and incorporating their suggestions (and levels) online, but face-to-face contact offers a different perspective.

“I am looking forward to meeting players,” he says, “and asking them why they currently play it and what would they like to see in the game in the future. I think this may provide better feedback than what I currently receive through comments and private messages.”

Oh, and for those of you entering the Hackathon, you’re going to have some stiff competition.

“I would consider myself a reasonably skilled scripter and I can’t wait to put myself up to the test against the challenges of the Hackathon.”

“Hopefully I will be able to win one of the scrolls as a prize,” he adds.
